Magnetic Fluid Conditioners
Saves time -
Saves Money - Increases Efficiency - Increases Equipment Life
THE PROBLEM
Water in
commercial and industrial systems contains salts and other substances which can
cause corrosion and scale deposits on metal surfaces. The corrosion activity and
scale deposition rate can be accelaerated by changes in water temperature,
velocity and pressure. it is these and other problems that have caused the need
to treat water in most heating, cooling and recycling applications.
THE SOLUTION In
the past the above problems have been largely responded to with chemical
treatment. However, H & W's new, patented magnetic water treatment
technology will treat water with little or no chemicals, and also virtually
eliminate corrosion and scale deposition in addition to removing existing scale
deposits.
This proven new
technology is available now from True Power, Inc. Magnetic Fluid Conditioners
(MFC) provide the following proven benefits:
Removes old
scale, prevents formation of new scale and inhibits corrosion without chemicals.
Maintains clean,
scale free piping and equipment thus improving heat transfer and reducing energy
and operating costs while extending equipment life.
Because the MFC
is non-chemical the process reduces operating cost of handling, storage,
exposure and disposal of chemicals and chemically treated water in addition to
facilitating OSHA?EPA compliance.
A reduction in
water treatment cost alone of at least one third plus, reductions in
environmental and occupational exposure risk cost.
COMPANY &
PRODUCT HISTORY
The H & W
Magnetic Fluid Conditioner (MFC) is a patented magnetic tool used in the
physical treatment of water and other commercial and industrial fluids. The MFC
has a sixteen year history of proven success as a cost saving inline device.
The technology
purchased by H & W from Hydroworld Corporation (Hydroworld) in December of
l996, was patented by Hydroworld in l985. The technology was initially marketed
by Hydroworld Corporation, and then jointly by Hydroworld Corporation and Water
Processing Technologies, Inc. Many improvements to the original technology have
been made and implemented since the filing of the original patent. H & W
acquired the benefits of these improvements along with access to the previous
companies technical personnel through direct employment and consulting
agreements.
Three parameters
that H & W upholds in the manufacture of all of its MFC products:
Proper gauss
strength
Adequate
velocity of the fluid through the unit
Placement of the
magnets parallel to the flow of the fluid.
The patented H
& W design ensures that all fluid passing through the Magnetic Fluid
Conditioning unit is exposed to the same uniform, high strength magnetic field
and achieves the same velocity. The extremely powerful permanent rare earth
magnets utilized in the MFC design were originally developed by NASA for the
miniature electrical motors used in space vehicles. In a properly sized H &
W MFC, the fluid passes uniformly through a narrow annulus and achieves a
velocity of approximately 22 ft./sec. All fluid is exposed to the magnetic field
at least twice during passage through the MFC. This is adequate to give the
desired results under normal conditions. If more severe treatment is desired, H
& W offers a variety of Super Units which are stronger (greater gauss) and
exposes the fluid to the magnetic field more than twice.
The H & W
Magnetic Fluid Conditioner is constructed of non-magnetic stainless steel.
Depending on the application, other non-magnetic materials of construction and
various types of coating are available. Most units can be installed with
insulators on the flanges. The MFC has no moving parts and the only energy
consumed is due to a small pressure drop through the unit.
