The RST
System is Coast Guard Approved and has proven itself to be more than just a
skimmer.
RST technology
involves the separation of oil from water in oil spills. It is the "state of
art" improvement over current technologies. The United States Coast Guard
validated the process at the Coast Guard OHMSETTE testing facility in New Jersey
USA. The process is 3 orders of magnitude (1,000 times) better than current
technologies being used. RST Technology offers several other advantages over
current technologies:
Since separation occurs inside the ship/ vessel, the level of waves /
sea action is immaterial ( as long as the waves are not high enough to sink the
recovery ship…while current cleanups cannot be attempted in waves over 18"
high. The system can process hundreds of thousands of gallons of polluted
water to recover even just one gallon of oil…thus it can clean up "sheen" oil
spills that current that current technology can not.
Since the separation ocurs on the ship / vessel the recovered oil is
stored…for recent oil spills where oil has not degraded, marketable oil is
recovered, also the separated (clean) water is discharged into the source
(ocean/lake/river), alowing the vessel to work longer. Additionally, the RST
Emergency Response Unit (ERU) is designed for steady operations, this means
continuous recovery with the ability to discharge the oil to potabble storage
equipment (storage Bladder, small barges etc.)
